A note for grown-ups riding along
Whistle Wisp began with a simple thought: why do some things feel full of wonder when we’re young, and how can we make space for that feeling to last as we grow?
Trains felt like the answer.
They carry history, motion, and possibility all at once. For some, they are marvels of engineering. For others, they are storytellers—slipping into the distance, promising that something interesting lies beyond the bend. That sense of possibility doesn’t belong to one age group. It belongs to anyone willing to leap and look for it.
We also wanted a character that could take us all along for the ride. The character Whistle Wisp combines both trains (he is a steam whistle after all) with folklore (as a will-o-wisp). We wanted him to embody both curiosity and wonder. We hope he does!
We’re still a small team, learning as we go, and we’re genuinely glad you’re here. If you have ideas, thoughts, or just want to say hello, we’d love to hear from you.
Let’s see where these tracks lead.
Built with Care
Whistle Wisp is made thoughtfully, with curiosity, care, and shared wonder at the center of everything we do. With that in mind, we have a few guiding principles as we continue to build and grow Whistle Wisp.
1. Respect for Young Audience
-
Young audiences deserve thoughtfulness, not noise, pressure, or persuasion.
-
Curiosity matters more than metrics
-
No “engagement at all costs” mindset.
2. Grown-ups Belong Here Too
-
We respect your judgment and your curiosity. We hope our work invites conversation, not just consumption.
-
You’re part of the journey, not just the audience. This space is for you too!
-
Wonder is better when it’s shared.
3. Intentional, Still Learning
-
We’re a small team of creators who aim to craft stories with care and curiosity.
-
We’re always learning, and we’re listening. Please reach out to us with feedback.
-
If we miss the mark, we listen, learn, and do better.
